Jim Kerr - Simple Minds

Part of the new wave of 1980s artists, influential Scottish band Simple Minds unique mix of rock, synthpop, electronic and dance music became an era defining sound with their hits Alive and Kicking and Don’t You (Forget About Me), the soundtrack single to coming of age film, The Breakfast Club.

Formed in Glasgow in 1977, frontman Jim Kerr along with multi-instrumentalist Charlie Burchill, are the two original members remaining in the band today and despite a number of line up changes, they continue to record and tour.

The band have 18 albums under their belt,  five UK number one albums, sold over 70 million records worldwide and in 2016 they won an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection. In 2018 their nineteenth studio album, Walk Between Worlds was released to critical acclaim.
