Sir Ian Botham

Ian Botham is acknowledged as one of the greatest all round world class cricketeers.  In 1981 he played a key role in England retaining the Ashes, scoring 399 runs and taking 34 wickets in what became known as Botham’s Ashes. He became the leading wicket-taker in Test history in August 1986.

He finished in the top three of the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year award four times and gained a lifetime achievement award in 2004.

Sir Ian is also a prolific charity fundraiser, his famous charity walks including Lands End to John O Groats several times, have raised more than £13 million for deserving causes.
