Maria Sharapova

Russian born sports star, Maria Sharapova picked up a racket at an early age and turned professional at the age of 14.

 

She went onto became the first Russian woman to win Wimbledon and is an Olympic champion. She won her first Grand Slam singles title at the Wimbledon in 2004, at the age of 17 after defeating defending champion Serena Williams catapulting her into the top 10 rankings for the first time.

 

In 2012, Sharapova won her first French Open title and became only the tenth woman and only to complete a Career Grand Slam.
